Majestiquely Wonderful Lunch Ideas for Back To School!

If you have a picky eater like my 10 year old… I’m sure you have the challenge of figuring out what you can send to school in the form of a nutritious lunch that will NOT either end up in the trash or make it’s way back home to you resulting in a STARVING child after school. So, I sat my very smart 10 year old child down and had her give me her top 10 packed lunches picks! Here we go….

1. Salsa, Nacho Cheese and Chips
2. Turkey & Cheese Wraps with dipping sauce
3. The old fashioned PB&J sandwich on White Wheat
4. Chicken Salad with Grapes on the side
5. Chicken Noodle Soup with Crackers
6. Chili with Cornbread Crackers
7. Chicken Nuggets with BBQ Sauce & Carrots on the side.
8. Cubed Chicken, Turkey or Ham with Crackers and carrots with Ranch dressing on the side.
9. The Old Fashioned Bologna or Bacon Sandwich on White wheat or a Bisquit.
10. Kabobs! ~ any combination will do!

Now, being truthful… I had to add the healthy “carrots” in there.. but the she did pretty good! I’ve also the Kabob recipe to help you get started!!! Have fun, ENJOY & let me know what you think!

Sometimes, It’s hard to stay motivated and in “good” spirits! You can wake up feeling GREAT and with one phone call or butt-munch in traffic, your mood may take a drastic turn. Finding Focus ~ Quiet Sundays!

Quiet Sundays….Finding Focus

A Majestique Favorite... so I am re posting!

Good Morning!! Sunday is my quiet day.. or at least it is supposed to be quiet. But with children… it doesn’t work that way all of the time!

Most Sundays, I get up around 7am (while everyone - the world & my household is still asleep) Light my Majestique Candle… (Vineyard Seascape, Total Spa or Grapefruit Splash are my favorites from www.MajestiqueSpa.com ) Shower (peacefully), dress in a light flowing and loose fitting garment and just sit still.. meditate… breathe. Take in all of the beautiful energy of a Sunday morning.. rain or shine. I do a breathing exercise that calms, centers and energizes.

Sitting still- back straight, seated on the floor or chair (indoors or out)

Take deep breath in for 4 counts, Hold for 4 counts, exhale for 4 counts and hold for 4 counts.

Repeat as many times as needed.

While doing this exercise….when inhaling… try to inhale positive thoughts…positive energy… positive images… positive feelings.. The Spirit of GOD.

When exhaling… exhale all of the negative…energy, thoughts, feelings and images…..(that other dude that attacks daily)

Believe it or not… it works. It helps me be able to clear my mind and relax…allowing me to think “lightly” about my week ahead. A nice cup of Tea always helps… (I recommend a blend from my new affiliate ~ www.TeaForte.com ) I also take this time to prepare a nice Sunday breakfast.. with smooth Jazz, Uplifting Inspirational or Uplifting Gospel to accompany my lifted spirits!!!! If you have a large bunch be sure to try my "Zip Lock Omelets" (find this under the April 2009 achieves)

If you don’t already have a Quiet Sunday routine.. try it out, and tell me how you feel afterwards.

PEACE!!! & Blessings!

Going Green!!! ~ Majestiquely!!!

Going Green …. Majestiquely!!!

This recent fiasco with the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has got us all thinking what we can do to save our planet. Big or small, locally or nationally~ were do we begin if we haven’t already started!!! We’ve been hearing for years how our decisions are causing the ozone layer to deteriorate and how we are destroying our rain forests! Sometimes, it takes national disasters to grab our attention and shake us back to reality.

I’ve been reading and searching for ideas for years…and I’ve found a few great things we all can do!

1- TURN OFF YOUR LIGHTS WHEN YOU LEAVE THE ROOM!
2- Run your appliances (dishwasher, washer, dryer, etc.) at night.
3- Grow your own herbs and veggies! Yes, you can do this even if you only have a window sill or patio!! While you’re at it… plant a tree!!!! This will increase oxygen and shrink the ozone layer!
4- Water your outdoor plants and gardens in the early morning or late evening!!!!
5- Buy in bulk. Invest in a membership in your local wholesale club or make nice with someone who’s already a member! This will save you loot and less packaging!
6- Invest in the recyclable bags OR just dig out those old tote bags you never use and keep them in your trunk or under your seat! Eventually, it will become habit to grab them on your way into the store!
7- Keep your AC at 78 or higher and your Heat at 70 or below to conserve energy and reduce heating costs. In the summer, close your blinds during the hotter parts of the day and in rooms that have direct sunlight. In the winter… open your blinds and shades to get all the natural sun and heat you can pull!!!!
8- Donate or TRADE old clothes, toys and furnishings. This will lessen the mountain of unwanted debris in our landfills!
9- For those of you who are allergic to washing dishes by hand – only run your dishwasher when it’s FULL and opt to Air Dry your dishes!
10- Consider organic cleaning products like vinegar, borax and baking soda. AND try the Lemon trick for cleaning your microwave out!!! (hint… it’s an older post right here on MajestiqueWorld.blogspot.com!

Okay, so I don’t overwhelm you… I’ll stop there! But I want you to go full steam ahead! Give the list to your children to get them involved and see what ideas they can come up with! Make it a family project for the summer!!!!
